On-line Board Meeting
April 18, 2010
Persons present: Brian Morrison, Cindy Volk, Leslie Greer, Suzanne Ehrlich, Laura Braucht, Annette Miner
Absent: Carolyn Ball, Cindy Farnham, Myrelis Aponte-Samalot
The meeting was opened by President Brian Morrison at 8:00 pm EST.
The minutes of the March 2010 meeting were approved.
President Report
Brian reported on discussions he has had with various CIT members regarding grants, programs, and space.
Director of Professional Development Report
Laura discussed space for the poster sessions at the conference. Poster sessions might be split up over two days. All presentation acceptance letters have been mailed out and all presenters have accepted. When the schedule is complete, Laura will send this out to all board members. Doug will be sending out an email to all CIT members regarding the nominations for the Mary Stotler award.
Director of Communication and Technology Report
Suzanne’s assistant is working on the program book. Suzanne has scanned all photos from previous conference for the archives.
Director of Public Relations Report
Leslie reported that all of the ASLTA board will be attending the CIT conference. ASLTA will be giving us one or two rooms at their conference in Seattle, June 28 – July 3, 2011 for no charge. Leslie and Myrelis are working on the publicity CD and it is almost complete. She will put a copy of the first journal on the CD.
Director of Research and Publications Report
Annette reported that March 30 was the deadline for submissions for the second journal. Annette is ordering hard copies of the first and second journal for all of the editors. Jemina Napier will be presenting about the journal at the conference. Cam McDermid is going to lead a committee regarding how to work out ASL submissions for the journal. Trenton Marsh is working with Deaf interpreter mentees to complete an ASL translation of the journal pages of the website.
