Call for Interpreters
The Conference of Interpreter Trainers is accepting applications for Deaf and hearing interpreters for the biennial conference in San Antonio, Texas.
Applicant Qualifications
RID CI and CT, CSC, NAD level IV or V, NIC, NIC Advanced or Master, CDI
Compensation Packages
Full time interpreters will receive an hourly rate. Reimbursement for travel to San Antonio, Texas up to $250.00 with receipt. Individuals that are applying for full time positions will have conference registration fee waived. Half of the double occupancy hotel room rate will be reimbursed for those interpreters whose working schedule requires an overnight stay.
Applicant Submission Material
All applicants submit in addition to interpreter category below:
- Letter of interest including applicant contact information and email address.
- Resume highlighting conference and platform interpreting experience.
Deaf applicants also submit:
- Ten-minute unrehearsed continuous videotape/cd/dvd samples:
- demonstrating mirror skills. (Sample must show the source and mirror.)
CDI Team Unit applicants also submit:
- Ten-minute unrehearsed continuous videotape/cd/dvd samples:
- demonstrating team unit platform interpreting skills.
(Sample must include the source and platform interpretation, as well as, team member perspectives on team interpreting.)
Hearing applicants also submit:
- Ten-minute unrehearsed videotape/cd/dvd demonstrating ASL to English interpreting skills. (Sample must show the ASL source with interpreting voice over.)
- Ten-minute unrehearsed videotape/cd/dvd demonstrating English to ASL interpreting skills. (Sample must show the ASL interpreting and include the English source.
