Hospitality/Special Events Chair

Coordinates special events at the conference.

Duties:

Pre-Conference:

  1. Establish a firm deadline for applications from prospective pre-conference workshop presenters.
  2. Send out an official call for pre-conference workshop presenters and add it to the website.
  3. Review and select a team of qualified pre-conference workshop presenters.
  4. Send out letters of acceptance and non-acceptance.
  5. Set up a workshop schedule for the pre-conference.

Luncheons:
Some luncheons are special events, such as panel discussions.

  1. Organize with the A/V Chair for all A/V needs.
  2. Work with the Interpreter Coordinator for interpreting needs.

Special Events:
Some events are outside of the CIT scope, such as Dinner Cruises and Walkathons.

  • Research whom to contact for events.
  • Advertise on the CIT Website and Listserve.
  • Organize onsite for tickets, transportation and questions.
